An accomplished songwriter, Karyn has been a Dove Award nominee and received a regional Emmy Award as Music Composer for a Christmas television special.

Karyn began teaching at the age of 14 when she was asked by her mother to teach a Bible class of 18-month-olds. More than thirty years later, Karyn's Child Talk® Seminar DVDs, CDs continue to be popular equipping tools for parents and teachers. In 2006, Karyn began a new apologetics conference, Teaching Kids Why: Finding Truth in a Pluralistic Culture which is presented annually in Nashville, Tennessee and periodically in other cities.

A graduate of Abilene Christian University, Karyn received a Master's of Fine Arts degree from Vermont College in 2004. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee where she and her husband, Ralph, homeschooled their two now-grown sons and are currently raising two cats--Nip and Tuck.
